Armor shield

Purchased this a about a month ago, watched videos and read a bunch of reviews and chose to try it. It was my first time using a ceramic coating and the armor shield truly was easy to use. It spreads incredibly easy and "levels" or buffs off effortlessly. The amount of protection you get for the price, it's hard to beat. I will purchase again.

Better than Expensive Polymer

Up until know I was a firm believer in Polymer coating. That is until I tried AvalonKing. The process is so much easier and less time consuming. You don’t need to be a specialist to apply this to your car! The results are very impressive! This is a definitely recommended product to anyone that truly wants a new car look. A professional Polymer coating can cost upwards of $2,000.00 USD.

Very easy to apply as DIY, they include all the essential items

I picked up this Armor Shield IX kit to apply to a brand new BMW X5 that I just picked up. I had the X5 delivered with the protective plastic wrap left in place so there would be no chance for scratches or swirls in the paint. The first thing I had done was to get protective film installed - complete front coverage (full hood, headlights, quarter panels) plus the rocker panels and a few other spots (door handle cups, door sills, rear wheel flares, rear lift gate panel, etc). After giving the PPF a chance to dry out, I then prepared for applying the Armor Shield ceramic by checking and cleaning all panels and then using a ceramic prep spray to make sure nothing was on the surface. It took about 2 hours to do the actual Armor Shield application, including two coats on all side surfaces and the hood. I didn't bother doing two complete coats on the roof since you can't really see it, though I may go back and do a second coat one of these days. I did apply over the surfaces with PPF too, after reading that this works well and helps keep a consistent gloss appearance. I did some (but not all) glass surfaces and also applied to all of the plastic trim (this vehicle has high gloss black trim). I was quite nervous that it would be difficult to make sure I didn't get high or low spots in the coating, but after getting the hang of it, I didn't seem to run into any issues. The Armor Shield DIY kit included everything I needed to apply, including several of the small cloths that you wrap on the applicator sponge and a cloth to remove the coating after it dries. So far I am very pleased with the results. The surface is very glossy (though being a brand-new vehicle, it was pretty glossy before I started) and slick to the touch. I have not washed it yet, as I wanted to make sure the coating was completely cured prior to getting it wet. I should note that I had the luxury of having an indoor, temperature-controlled garage space to work in, so I was able to do this in one night with a consistent 65-70 degree temp to help keep a consistent drying time. The biggest challenges were getting the lighting right to make sure I buffed off all of the dried coating after doing each panel (I had very bright LED lighting, but even this requires moving the light source around to make sure you are seeing everything well) and keeping the applicator cloth wrapped around the sponge. Mine would tend to slip off a little bit if I wasn't careful when holding it. Time will tell how well it holds up (I just applied it a couple of weeks ago) but so far I am quite pleased. I may try applying to the glass on one side of the vehicle but not the other to do a direct comparison with and without. And for planning purposes, I was able to do my 1 3/4 coating on this full-size SUV with a single bottle of Armor Shield and it still has some left. I also coated my set of winter wheels with Armor Shield (two coats on each wheel, including the inside of the wheel). I am pretty sure I have enough left to apply to the summer wheels and brake calipers when I do my summer/winter wheel swap in a few weeks. I'm including a couple of pix taken the morning after doing the coating.

Excellent Product

I’m old school. Buff and wax guy. I wasn’t sold on ceramic coatings. I first tried a spray on ceramic product that claimed to be the best and it was just snake oil. I saw some videos of people using Armor Shield and I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. I’m VERY happy with the end result. Even though I used the coating on a brand new car with a couple hundred miles on it, it made a big difference after it was applied.. I highly recommend Armor Shield. You won’t be disappointed. I plan on coating all my vehicles now.

Just as advertised!

I found this product by watching Youtube videos. Avalon King sent me emails on how to use. They were precise in steps you should take to apply which were easy to follow. I sent a couple of emails with questions and they were quick to reply. I applied twice as suggested. Awesome company with a great product.
