Been detailing for 20+ years, ceramic coating for about 10 years and this has got to be one of the top 5 products that i have applied to paint. Very easy on and off, adds depth to paint finish, quick flash time. Have yet to see how long it lasts on a finish, but have customers that i know will make the effort o let me know how it lasts in Illinois winter.
I bought the ArmorShield 9 on the basis that Alex from LegitStreetCars uses it and rated it so highly. Used it on my 2005 VW Golf GTI, which had very tired paintwork. I put in the hard yards to restore the paint (Iron decontamination, clay bar, full cut and polish) before applying the ArmorShield.
I'm finding it hard to describe how easy this product was to apply, and the absolutely spectacular results I ended up getting. It looked like a show car when I finished and the silver paint glowed under all lighting conditions. The 'egg-crate' grille on this car was always hard to keep looking nice, but after ceramic coating I couldn't believe how good it looked and how it stayed that way - no more finger breaking polishing required. A year later I listed the car for sale and it sold immediately for the asking price, just because the paint looked so darn good! I can't recommend this product enough. The only bad experience I had was dropping one of the precious 3 bottles I had while it was still full and looking sadly at the precious ceramic bleed into the concrete. Thankfully the remaining 2 bottles were still more than enough. Just ordered 3 more to do my old Merc SUV - I can't wait to see the results! Thanks AvalonKing!
Just completed the application check out the reflection of the trees. I didn’t even notice until I took the pictures of my Porsche Boxster. Black on black, Hardest to keep clean but when clean nothing beats it. Very happy with results. I will be buying more for other vehicles. I spent a lot more on prep than application. I wanted to make sure it bonded with clear coat.
This is my first time applying a ceramic coating!!
I was super paranoid about getting high spot or uneven application, but this is a very user friendly product, entry level never applied a coating in my life and the results came out awesome.
I’ve detail my own cars for a hobby but never tried a ceramic coating like armor shield.
I did a wash, iron remover on the paint, clay bar the whole car then washed it again, dried it, polished the whole car including windows. When I was about to apply the coating I did an “ipa”isopropyl alcohol wiped down on each panel before I applied the coating. The waiting time isn’t that long and it was easy to remove.
Here’s my finish product. I definitely will buy more.
Readers; OK! so I bought two kits of this coating for my 2019 Kia Niro B.E.V. It came in a fancy a** box and packing. So, its packed well, lets see if it works. After cleaning & clay baring my EV I set to work with the coating.
It went on well and buffed up to a good and high sheen. With this I am much pleased. BUT and its the famous BUT, the TINY bottle was just enough to do this mid sized EV. Anything larger and more would be needed.
So an email to the Company to see if I could buy a BIG jug of the stuff. I do not need, and did not need {I have been detailing A/C and vehicles since before most of the staff at Avalon King were born} the fancy packaging. In a series of emails, I was granted a 'customer retention discount' and got two more kits of the product. OK, that will work even if its wasteful. The other two kits I got; one used to detail the interior of my EV. The other went to a family member I gave the 'spare' kit from the first purchase. She has a Kia Sorrento, and two kits MIGHT be enough for that 'land barge'.
The interior detailing was interesting. Much of the common grade black plastic took just a 'sheen' after the coating. The invidious 'piano black' parts gave a shine like unto a mirror- no hyperbole here. And I used it on the 'center I-Pad" where I am always touching the screen and leaving finger prints. In both places, finger smears/prints do not show up! I am no longer 'forever' wiping down the 'piano black' interior bits. The coating is also ''kid proof'. Candy/ice cream remains are gone in one wipe; back to smooth and shinning.
So, the overall appearance of this EV is far superiour to anything I have used before. It does all that it claims to do-- a rare thing in modern advertizing. Customer service was honest about my requests. It seems marketing and procurement depts. are befouling after first purchase repeat business.
So reader, IF you want a product that truly works, and are willing to put up with bizarre after sales folly, then buy this-- and make YOUR car happy, and thee along with bargain.
