Description

Even the world’s highest rated consumer-grade nano ceramic coating needs a helping hand every now and then, which is precisely why AvalonKing created a Ceramic Coating SiO2 Boost Spray. Fortified with 20% silica dioxide (that’s double the SiO2 when compared to our competitors), this spray gives existing ceramic coatings the “boost” they need, and acts as a super glossy sacrificial outer layer. Engineered to provide protection for up to 6 months, and fully capable of serving as a stand-alone form of temporary protection, AvalonKing’s Ceramic coating SiO2 Boost Spray offers DIY enthusiasts the best of both worlds. Furthermore, this product is guaranteed to work with the rest of the AvalonKing lineup, including AvalonKing’s all-new shampoos and microfiber cloths!
  • Tightens existing nano ceramic coatings by infusing porous areas with fresh SiO2 and booster additives, thus revitalizing the product’s bonding powers, increasing shine, and restoring hydrophobic water beading properties.
  • Packs an industry-leading 20% silica dioxide (SiO2) content per bottle for unrivaled resilience.
  • Offers up to 6 months of hydrophobic boosting capabilities and enhanced shine.
  • Can be used in conjunction with Armor Shield IX ceramic coating, or by itself, as a temporary “quick fix” protectant, serving as a sacrificial layer for absorbing the impacts of water spots, tree sap, bug guts, bird droppings, etc…
  • Applied atop a healthy coating of Armor Shield IX, fortifies the existing semi-permanent bonded ceramic coating layer, and adds additional heat resistance and UV protection.
  • Engineered to play nice with AvalonKing’s exclusive ph-neutral maintenance shampoo of utter awesomeness and entire microfiber line.
  • Features sensuous notes of vanilla and privilege.
  • Meant for external use only, so do not use it as a chaser while taking tequila shots.
  • Available exclusively in a 16oz. no-drip spray bottle for convenience and value.
  • Sports a 1–year unopened package shelf-life.
  • Wash your ride with one of AvalonKing’s Car Shampoo products, using the two-bucket car washing technique.
  • Spritz surfaces with AvalonKing’s proprietary blend of IPA Prep Spray to remove any residue that may still be stuck on the surface, followed by a wipe-down with one of our ultra-plush microfiber cloths.
  • Apply Ceramic Coating SiO2 Boost Spray to the dry surface, while avoiding direct sunlight, just like your creepy neighbor who only comes out at night…
  • Spray the coating section by section, smoothing the liquid out as you go with a fresh microfiber cloth as per instructed in a crosshatch pattern.
  • After 10–15 seconds the coating’s flashing should become visible, at which point it will need to be buffed away.
  • Give your ceramic coating booster enough time to cure, well away from water or wet weather for 24hrs+, while avoiding car shampoo and other detailing chemicals for at least 3–5 days.
  • Wait at least a minimum of 24 hours between coats.
  • Reapply every 2–3 months for maximum overlapping levels of protection (you’ll know it’s time when liquid beading and sheeting effects begin to fade).

initially hard to buff out

Bought this as I was losing the beading action on the hood of my truck. it was very difficult to buff off the residue on the initial application. It took another wash and dry to do that, and was still a little troublesome.

Follow up to earlier review

I would like to add to my earlier review regarding the booster spray I received. This company is very responsive to my issues. As I stated I had issues as others have with this booster spray. The company I believe will approach and correct any issues with the spray over time and have expressed and stated that. I’ve used their ceramic coating on 4 or 5 cars now and am a big fan of it. I ordered some of the booster spray so I could keep up on the coating and try and minimize deterioration. I am not a fan of the spray. Although I expressed I wasn’t happy with the booster spray this company responded immediately and said they appreciate the feedback and will work to correct any problems. I feel they will do what they said because I’ve been a customer for a few years with them and any complaints in the past have been addressed and rather quickly.

Not pleased with the Booster spray.

The spray coating I’m not really pleased with. After applying it, when removing the process is not easy. It seams the spray leaves a residue that is difficult to remove. directions. I don't have it with me but it says do a 4x6 area and I assume that's not inches. No, left a residue that was not easy to get completely off without quite a bit of buffing. Shampoo seemed good though just not a fan of the spray. Took way more buffing than the coatings I've done previously.

Thanks for your honest feedback Mark and I enjoyed our chat earlier today. We definitely are listening to our customers and appreciate your honest feedback. Here's an alternative application approach that is working quite well for other customers: Here's what works for me. 2 low pile/low weave microfiber towels. towel 1 for application and towel 2 for buffing. spray some booster on towel one and wipe down a section of the car. At around 10 seconds or so buff with towel 2 repeat until the entire car is coated. We want you happy that's our bottom line. Drop-in via chat or send us a message over at hello@avalonking.com and we can continue the discussion there!

Few Seconds Dwell Is Swell

This new rejuvenator certainly helped enhance an already great Avalon King ceramic shine. Applied in shade right after minimal touch wash, hi forced air dry, it not only looked shinier, it was, gaining 5-7 points on the Glossmeter. This is wonderful way to start out my second year with Armor Shield IX. I’m glad A.K. Came out with their own coating as I’ve tried a few others short lived. Be sure to only let it dwell a few seconds applying to 2’x2’ area or you’ll be buffing quite a bit longer if it sets too long. Directions say after spread just leave it a few seconds, good advice. Thanks Avalon King for my fifth (Cleanest Ride) and sixth (Best in Show) trophies that you helped win.

Not overly impressed

I can say that I am very disheartened by the quality of this Ceramic Booster Spray after the amazing results I achieved with apply the the Armor Shield IX. This spray in my opinion made my glossy shine a little duller, so I was very disappointed in the results as I was excited to get this applied to my Corvette. I felt this product was much harder to remove than the ceramic coating itself. Product seemed to smear and like a greasy or oily spray, so be prepared to do a lot of wiping, and wiping, and wiping.... Even after all the wiping it still would not get all the product off and later noticed a lot of high spots/flashing that I then had to get out which took even more and hard wiping to get off, which probably actually caused micro scratches to the coating. I am hoping that I just got a bad batch from the initial launch, but at this time I am not sure if I will use again on my Corvette, as I was impressed with the gloss from the Armor Shield IX, not so much on the Ceramic Booster Spray.

Hello Paul! I received your email this morning and posted your review. We post all reviews both positive and negative. We need to scan the reviews prior to posting to review any mentioned websites, emails, or private information that a customer may or may not have intended to be displayed. Aside from that, we also have to scan for spam that may come through so my apologies for not promptly posting your review. I certainly think we need to work on improving the instructions that we include with the booster spray. When you spray on just wait around 10 seconds and wipe with the other side of the applicator pad or with a low pile microfiber towel. What worked best for me was using 2 low weave/pile microfibers. One towel for applying and one towel for wiping. I would spray it on to a towel and then apply it. I'd wait 10 seconds and then wipe off. With that process, it leveled easily and left a brilliant shine. Many are getting the same results with the included applicator as well. We certainly stand behind all of our products and if you had a bad experience with the product we'll make it right. That's what we are here for! Kindly drop me a line at hello@avalonking.com and we can have a more engaging conversation and turn this situation around!

Not happy.

I'm not super thrilled with this booster spray. I've waited for this to be released for quite some time and as soon as I got the email that it was available I ordered a bottle. I just applied it and am having substantial trouble getting it to buff off. It has left a greasy, oily swirly sheen on my paint and I'm still trying to buff it to any form of clarity. It's like putting vegetable oil on a cloth and trying to buff it to a shine. I have used booster sprays from other companies and they just wipe on and off with ease. This one not so much. I'm not sure what the deal is. Been buffing the paint for 3 hours by hand, used several microfiber towels, I'm sweating my brains out and my arm is nearly dead. I've also buffed so much and so hard I've introduced micro scratches onto my paint. I still have this greasy oily sheen that will not wipe off. You can change the directions of the sheen depending on which way you wipe, and you can draw on the paint with your finger in the oily residue. I'm pretty upset. I've reached out to AK for help via email as you can't call them. Maybe I got a bad bottle? We'll see. I'm certainly not using anymore out of this bottle. I hope I can get a refund. I don't ever want to go through this again.

Value Based Product

A little goes a long way on this product. I only sprayed one line on my microfiber applicator or on my all purpose towel I can comfortably cover an entire panel sans the hood. Used the product in cooler weather under the shade so I'm unfamiliar with the performance in the sun. Used it on six vehicles with fantastic results, I didn't use it as a base coat, but as advertised - for boosting existing ceramic coatings. Pro tip - to buff use a low pile towel. I used a generic 320 gsm towel and it works fantastic. I only had to use one for a sedan and two for larger vehicles.

Single-layer Booster coating

Do a complete Prep: Strip-wash, Clay, Polish, Alcohol. It WILL help. Areas I didn't clay or polish were much harder to buff the product off than those that got the full treatment. Keep your buffing cloth flat, as folds/creases will remove more product and make it harder to keep level. But Wow, the Beading, Colour-depth and shine. My GF couldn't stop smiling when she saw the result. Can't wait for spring to do the full Armor Shield IX base coat with this as a topper.
