Ill start by saying i had a slight hiccup with what i ordered but they made it right and it cost me a week. Not a big deal. Also a disclaimer ive had this product on my car a week and two washes. So longevity is yet to be seen. Small add this is my actual 100% opinion. Im not here for anything other than my experience whether it be good or bad. Here we go.
Following the directions and the video makes this whole process relatively fool proof.
I started with a heavy power washed rinse.
Hands on foam cannon and micro fiber mit wash with the AvalonKing pre soap.
Same heavy rinse.
Clay bar wash.
Hands on foam cannon wash with the same as above.
Dry, then IPA wash/spray from Avalonking. (They sent me two soaps instead of this, mentioned above, got a nice microfiber mit on the house).
Finally the actual coating.
The coating goes on well, follow their cross pattern and just make sure to pay attention to the details. Make sure you DONT miss any spots. The hardest part i had to deal with was knowing when i needed more of the coating. I found myself wetting the sponge/fiber towel two times per panel. Once to start and then once half way through or so. For big panels i may add just a few drops to finish up. Once i felt the sponge have a little drag on it, id lube it up again, whether this is correct or not idk the results were good.
Here in MI it was 84 degrees out and i had my car in the shop out of any sunlight. I decided to set a timer for 2 minutes after every panel. Usually this meant around 2:15 or so seconds by the time i shut my alarm off and got back to the car. This seemed to work perfectly fine for me. It never got away from me and buffed out well. Again this step is important to make sure you dont miss any spots. NONE.
I stayed two panels ahead of myself for the most part. Id coat a panel and while it dried i would ipa a few panels ahead. If i didnt finish the ipa when the timer was up it, i would just stop and buff the compound off then pick up the ipa where i left off. Repeat. They recommend doing the coating process twice to make sure you didnt miss any spots. I did NOT do this as i just didnt have time and i was very confident i didnt miss a spot. Take your TIME and make sure you have enough time to one shot the whole process. It took me around 5 hours just working slow and easy and enjoying the process.
I wax my car every wash. I hardly ever miss the process and when i do its very apparent when i dry the car and the water just wont bead up and i go hands on. I gave my car its first wash roughly 96 or so hours after the application and i must say im very pleased. I knew the washing and longevity would be the real test as the application isnt too tough. The water beaded up and FLEW off the car when i hit it with the leaf blower. Very impressively too ill say. I did a no touch wash with my own chemical bros soap and a greenworks 3000psi sprayer. 4.5 nozzle at .45 and a MJJC foam cannon and the car looks so damn good. If this stuff lasts even just a year at this level ill be ecstatic. If you follow the process and do your diligence with the research and a few videos its no harder than washing and waxing your car. Set a timer and stick to it.
My conclusion is good. Its a fantastic product. Very good support and i felt like even a normal Joe like myself can do it. You do need to make sure youre detail oriented because its easy to miss something when youre doing an entire car. Dont cut corners, dont skimp on towels or soap or the ipa wash or doing it in direct sunlight. Just follow the directions, do it right the first time and youll be very happy you did.
